The MicroFridge is already in the room
Every UC Davis residence hall room shares one. Do not bring another, and coordinate any other shared appliance with roommates before somebody buys a duplicate.
Bed and room basics
The mattress is a 36-by-80-by-8-inch Twin XL, so an 8-inch depth is worth checking on a fitted sheet. Beds come standard, bunked or lofted and may only be modified as designed. Room type, bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and storage vary, so wait for the exact assignment before buying bedding, rugs, organizers or furniture.
Pack these first
- Twin XL bedding sized for an 8-inch mattress
- Towels, toiletries and a shower caddy
- Laundry supplies and hangers
- Basic cleaning supplies
- Compliant surge protection
Rules and smart skips
- Skip a second MicroFridge or a personal refrigerator. One is already supplied per room.
- Beds may only be adjusted into the configurations they are designed for.
- Pack in reusable containers and remove product packaging at home rather than in the hallway.
- Photograph the original furniture arrangement, since everything must be returned to its original location at move-out.
Before move-in
- View the assignment and schedule the Moove-In appointment in myHousing.
- Check email daily in the weeks before arrival for route and timing changes.
- Follow the assigned arrival route and work through the official residence hall checklist.
