Bed and room basics

Plan on Twin XL bedding. Room type, bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and storage vary by community, so wait for the exact assignment before buying rugs, large organizers, furniture or shared appliances. Storage in particular is limited, which makes under-bed bins and closet organizers a post-assignment purchase.

Pack these first

• Twin XL bedding
• Towels, toiletries and a shower caddy
• Laundry supplies and hangers
• Basic cleaning supplies and an emergency kit
• Compliant surge protection

Rules and smart skips

• A refrigerator is allowed if it is UL approved and no larger than 4.3 cubic feet.
• A microwave in the room is allowed only as part of an approved MicroFridge combination, so coordinate before ordering.
• Cooking appliances belong in kitchen areas, not bedrooms.
• Open flames, heaters, sun lamps, personal routers, drones and noncompliant electric mobility devices are prohibited.

Before move-in

• Follow UCI's assigned move-in date, time, check-in point and community directions.
• Bring ID and document the room condition before rearranging anything.
• Arroyo Vista residents have additional cleaning and kitchen considerations to plan for.
