Bed and room basics

Each student gets an 80-by-34-inch Twin XL bed and mattress, a dresser, a desk and a chair. Rooms are roughly 15 by 11 feet, but bathrooms, air conditioning, flooring and storage vary by village, so wait for the building and room type before buying a rug, large organizers or extra furniture. University furniture stays in the room.

Pack these first

• Twin XL bedding sized for an 80-by-34-inch mattress
• Towels, toiletries and a shower caddy
• Laundry supplies and hangers
• Basic cleaning supplies
• Compliant surge protection

Rules and smart skips

• Skip a second microwave or refrigerator. One MicroFridge per room is already provided.
• Bed risers, extra mattresses and unauthorized bed supports are not allowed.
• Space heaters, air conditioners, halogen lamps, open-coil appliances, candles, incense and wax warmers are prohibited.
• Wall tapestries, extension cords and personal routers are also on the prohibited list.

Before move-in

• Sign up for a check-in window in the housing portal and arrive inside it.
• Bring or pick up the campus ID used for room and meal access.
• Follow the Beachside, Hillside or Parkside check-in and parking map for the assignment.
• Unload, then move the vehicle out of the active unloading area before unpacking.
