Rice University
📍 Houston, TX
Quick take
The residential college is the unit at Rice. Room tours and O-Week material for your specific college will answer more than any general packing list, including whether lofting or bunking is possible.
Bed and room basics
Rice provides each student with an 80-inch Twin XL bed, a dresser, desk, chair, and a closet or wardrobe. Room layouts, bathroom access, flooring and storage vary between the residential colleges, so wait for the building and room type before buying a rug, large organizers, extra seating or shared appliances. Ask the college maintenance representative before lofting or bunking anything.
Pack these first
