The floor matters, not just the building

At 1300 Residence Hall the bed size changes between the lower floors and the upper floors. Confirm the floor before buying sheets.

Bed and room basics

Temple supplies a bed and mattress, dresser, desk and chair, and a closet or wardrobe. Two mattress sizes are in use: floors 1 to 3 of 1300 Residence Hall have 39-by-75-inch standard Twin beds, while the upper floors of 1300 along with 1940, Morgan, Johnson and Hardwick, White, and Temple Towers have 39-by-80-inch Twin XL beds. Room type, bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and storage all vary, so wait for the exact assignment before buying bedding, rugs, organizers, furniture or shared appliances.

Pack these first

  • Bedding in the size confirmed for the assigned hall and floor
  • Towels, toiletries and a shower caddy where the bathroom is shared
  • Laundry supplies and hangers
  • Basic cleaning supplies
  • A compliant power strip

Rules and smart skips

  • Traditional and suite units use common kitchenettes rather than in-room cooking facilities.
  • Personal microwaves are not allowed unless obtained through Temple's approved MicroFridge partner.
  • Check Community Living Standards for electrical, appliance and decoration restrictions before buying anything that plugs in or goes on a wall.

Before move-in

  • The assigned date and time appear in MyHousing.
  • Complete required health items before arrival.
  • Arrive during the appointment window and move into the specifically assigned bed space.
  • Bring Temple identification and follow the building's route and unloading instructions.
