Three bed sizes across campus

Full in Parkview, University Towers and Tamiami. Twin XL in Panther, Everglades and Lakeview. Standard Twin in University Apartments. The building decides.

Bed and room basics

Bed size follows the building, so match sheets to the assignment rather than to a general dorm bed size assumption. Every unit includes a full-size refrigerator. Room types, bathrooms, kitchens, air conditioning and storage vary, so wait for the assignment before buying a rug, large organizers, furniture or shared appliances.

Pack these first

  • Bedding in the size the assigned building uses
  • Kitchen and bathroom supplies for the assigned layout
  • Laundry and cleaning supplies
  • A hurricane kit
  • Approved surge protection

Rules and smart skips

  • Skip the mini-fridge. Every unit already has a full-size refrigerator.
  • Candles, air conditioners, space heaters, halogen lamps and exposed-heating-element appliances are prohibited.
  • Large furniture, personal mattresses and unapproved animals or weapons are not allowed.

Before move-in

  • Assisted move-in uses assigned times with check-in through Lot 7.
  • Carts are limited to two per resident and 20 minutes, so bring a dolly if you can.
  • Bring government ID and prepare for Miami heat and rain.
  • Follow the Rapid Unload Pass and current route, and do not count on extra storage.
