Nebraska Hall is the exception

Most AU halls take Twin sheets. Nebraska Hall uses Full. Check the assigned hall page for the exact mattress length before ordering bedding.

Bed and room basics

Every room provides a bed, desk, chair, drawers and shelf space. Sheet size depends on the hall, so confirm the length as well as the width on the assigned hall page. Room type, bathroom, kitchen, air conditioning and storage vary, so hold off on rugs, organizers, furniture and appliances until the assignment is final. See the dorm bed size guide if the listing is ambiguous.

Pack these first

  • Bedding in the size the assigned hall lists
  • Towels, toiletries and a shower caddy

Rules and smart skips

  • A refrigerator may not exceed 4.5 cubic feet.
  • Personal microwaves must be rented through the approved MicroFridge program.

  • Unapproved lofts and risers are not allowed.

Before move-in

  • Students may switch to an open time slot in the Housing Portal.
  • Check the assigned hall's amenities before buying anything it already supplies.
  • Do not ship packages before the published receiving date.
  • Pack in reusable containers and follow the assigned check-in and unloading route.
