UK has multiple mattress sizes
Kentucky's official move-in guidance lists different sizes by residence:
- Twin XL: Baldwin, Donovan, Ingels, Johnson, Roselle and Smith, plus the bunk-bed side of designated three-person suites.
- Full XL or Queen: Ball, Blazer, Boyd, Chellgren, Haggin, Holmes, Jewell, Kirwan-Blanding, Lewis, Pigman, University Flats and Woodland Glen IV and V.
Do not order "standard dorm bedding" until the room is assigned
UK residents may need Twin XL, Full XL or Queen bedding.

Room and bathroom planning
UK offers suite and apartment-style arrangements with building-specific occupancy and bathroom layouts. The university states that suites include a microwave and refrigerator, so students should not purchase duplicate appliances without an approved medical exception.
Packing priorities
- Sheets, protector and topper in the confirmed size
- Pillows, blanket or comforter
- Towels and toiletries
- Shower caddy or suite-bath cleaning supplies as appropriate
- Laundry basket and detergent
- School supplies and chargers
- Compact storage after reviewing room measurements
- Plastic moving bins instead of cardboard when practical
Big Blue Move-In
- Select the official move-in appointment.
- Complete UK Mobile ID before arrival.
- Download the current hall code card and route map when released.
- Do not change the student's mailing address to the residence hall before move-in.
- Bring a cart or dolly.
- Purchase the required parking and dining selections if applicable.
- Keep checking UK email for last-minute instructions.
