North Carolina State University
📍 Raleigh, NC
The quick take
NC State residence halls use Twin XL beds, while Wolf Village and Wolf Ridge apartments use full-size bedding (Full sheets).
Bed and room basics
Double-occupancy residence-hall mattresses are 36 x 80 x 7-inch Twin XL. Apartment mattresses are extra-long full size, approximately 53 x 75 inches. Rooms include core furniture, and most residence-hall beds can be lofted except North Hall and some Avent Ferry rooms.
Pack first
Bring the correct bedding, mattress pad, pillows, towels, shower caddy and shoes, laundry supplies, hangers, cleaning basics, fan and a surge-protected power strip. Apartment and hotel-style residents should also plan for hand soap and toilet tissue.
Rules and smart skips
Personal mini-fridges are not permitted in residence halls because housing supplies a MicroFridge. Toasters, air fryers and other open-coil appliances belong only in apartment kitchens. Leave extension cords, personal air conditioners and heaters home.
Before move-in
- Confirm your building, room type and bed size.
- Coordinate shared appliances and cleaning supplies with roommates.
- Review the current arrival route and check-in time.
- Keep bedding, medication, toiletries and chargers easy to reach.
A full sheet will not negotiate with a Twin XL mattress, no matter how encouraging you are.
